In Memoriam

Marín Menchaca, Juan Carlos. Professor of Sociology, University of Buenos Aires. Founding member of the WATERLAT-GOBACIT Network. Lito Marín was an active member of the network, and participated in several research projects and other activities. He provided a strong intellectual and moral leadership in the struggle against social inequality and injustice, and his legacy will remain as a living example of genuine intellectual generosity. He passed away on 2 May 2014.

Bernardes, Dênis Antõnio Mendonça. Associate Lecturer 2, Department of Social Service, Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. Dênis Bernardes was a dedicated member of WATERLAT, who helped to consolidate the network's local research team in Recife, Brazil. He passed away on 1 September 2012.

Spedale, Gustavo Adolfo. Coordinator of the Cordoba Coordination for the Defense of Water and Life, and Secretary of Environment, Central Union of Argentina's Workers (CTA), Province of Cordoba, Argentina. Gustavo Spedale was a very active and supportive non-academic member of WATERLAT. He passed away on 19 November 2012.
